Alright well im a 19 year old Carpentry Apprentice from Canada. I have just finished my level 1 (basic) carpentry course. I was just looking to hear from some contractors on here if they had any advice for a young apprentice just getting into the trades. I plan on doing renovations and flipping houses. But i have also built some decks and sheds so id like to have the skills to do it all. Anyways if you have any advice for me that would be great!

Thanks, Kyle!

Understanding the structural aspects of a house first is the key. Get a summertime job working for a framing company.

Yeah if your going to be a "finish" carpenter then do like Justin said and spend some time framing,
its good to know the trades that come before and after yours,
I'm not sure if i'd spend to much time trying to understand every detail of every trade, you could end up being a handyman
