A collection of 21 Ferraris has changed hands, and it's headed for the United States.

Car collector Tom Price, owner of Price Family Dealerships in Marin County, Calif., bought 21 classic Ferraris. The collection hit the market last year as Dutch vehicle-distributor Kroymans entered into bankruptcy.

Broker Thomas Hamann, owner of Hamann Classic Cars in Riverside, Conn., said he had been working to sell the collection of Ferraris since last May. The deal closed on Feb. 2, he said.

Hamann said this was one of the largest lots of Ferraris to be sold in recent years. A larger sale happened in 1992, Hamann said, when Swiss businessman Albert Obrist sold his collection of factory racing Ferraris to Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone.

Hamann would not comment on the sale price of the Ferrari collection to Price. Speculation in collector-car circles puts the sale price at about $30 million. Hamann said Price intends to sell some of the Ferraris in the lot he bought.

The list of Ferraris bought by Price includes:

-- 250 Europa GT

-- 375 America

-- 250 Boano

-- 250 GT Berlinetta SWB

-- 250 Testa Rossa

-- 250 GTO

-- 275 GTB/4 driven by three-time Le Mans winner Luigi Chinetti

-- 330 GTC

-- 365 GTS

-- 365 GTB/4 Daytona Coupe

-- 365 GTB/4 Daytona Spyder

-- 246 GTS Dino Spyder

-- 365 GT4/BB

-- 512 BB

-- 550 Barchetta

It was determined on Ferrarichat that the 250 GTO actually has a GTE engine, the 250 Testarossa is a replica, and the Daytona Spider is a conversion from a Daytona Coupe. Also, the GT SWB is also a replica. So not all real cars. Price reportedly sold his real GTO to purchase this collection.

Now I ask, would you guys sell a real GTO, 1 of 39 built, to but a collection like this? This is a hard one for me.

What do you guys say?

I guess it depends on if he bought it purely for his collection or as an investment. Im not sure if one real GTO cost more than this entire collection together. But if it doesnt than maybe he plans on selling them later on down the road. If it isnt an investment than he shouldve had them all checked out before he purchased them, or maybe he doesnt care and just loves Ferraris. Who knows.

well...the great thing about the replicas and conversions is that they have lost value and therefore you don't feel so bad actually driving them. i think we all can agree that in order to fully enjoy one of these cars you have to drive them and push them a little.

Kroymans is crazy to let it go for that price, even though he had to. Tom Price actually only wanted the 250 GTO and another Ferrari, not sure which. The rest of the cars came with it and will be for sale through Hamann's company Classic Cars.

Kroymans luckily has some Ferrari's left, the ones that were not registered to one of his companies. He still has an F50, Enzo Ferrari, 550 Barchetta & 575 Superamerica, and supposedly a couple more.

Some trivia: Kroymans only has had most of these cars for 2 years. He bought them early 2008 from an even bigger carnut, Harrie van de Moesdijk. Harrie is the owner of lots of other cars like the baby-blue Veyron you all must have seen pics of on the web. The list Kroymans bought from him:

Ferrari Enzo
Ferrari F50
Ferrari 288GTO
Ferrari 550 Barchetta
Ferrari 575 Superamerica
Ferrari Testarossa
Ferrari 512M
Ferrari F430 Coupé
Ferrari F430 Spider
Ferrari 360 Modena
Ferrari 360 Spider
Ferrari 355 Spider
Ferrari 612 Scaglietti
Ferrari 456M GT

I'll check for some more pics of the garage.

I think it's a shame they dissappear to the United States. I'd rather have kept them here in Holland :D.
