my coworkers Prius has regenerative braking?

the prius, insight and volt have regenerative braking but stores the energy in a battery rather than the flywheel

KERS using a flywheel or coils have been around for a while...krieger landaulets had them back in the early 1900s.

KERS was also used in a KTM motorcycle back in 2008.
and it has been used by toyota on a supra before that.

We also use KERS on all of our Sub pumps used in ranching.

Nothing new.

both systems assist in the propulsion of the vehicle. they're both quite brilliant in their own way but in the end, it's done to increase the efficiency of operation.

on the exact same note, have you ever heard of a Gyrobus? It was a bus that used a flywheel to conserve/store energy, it made in the 50's.

Porsche is just better at marketing. Come on, who hasnt wanted a little red "boost" button in their car???
