This is the next generation 6-Series Coupe. BMW is calling it a Concept 6-Series Coupe, but it is most likely not far from, or maybe even an exact one-for-one of, the next-generation 6-Series. It will be physically unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, where it may be confirmed as a production car and some of its new features will be revealed. BMW says the “concept” has full LED headlights and a newly designed, freestanding Control Display for the iDrive operating system. The exterior styling holds true to the original car but with more flowing lines and softer creases.

Power will be provided by the same engine found in the 550i, a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 creating 400 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. The last 6-Series was sporty but a little overweight. Hopefully the next generation car will lose some of its heft. Despite the change in engine size, it should retain the 650i nomenclature. Production of the next 6-Series is expected to start in mid-2011 as a 2012 model.
