Apizza Scholls in Portland, Oregon is amazing. I live down the street from Mozza and I prefer APS.

I believe that this is the only restaurant in the country that still hand makes (no machines) their dough. The result is a chewy yet crunchy crust. Perfect.
I've lived in Portland all my life and I've never been there, I'm ashamed. Sounds like a good thing to do in the coming days.

Di Fara Pizza, Brooklyn, NY

google it

i waited 1.5 hours for this pizza and i was pretty disappointed - greasy, soggy crust. a lot of my food friends also rave about this place but i just don't get it.

You saved the thread I was about to start rippin into people from NY for not mentioning L&B Spumoni Gardens.... spent many weekend nights there .. stopping in on the way to NYC to party.. best most unique Sicilian slice available

Goodfellas in Staten Island is really goos as well

IMHO, there are two kinds of pizza, gourmet pizza (like the ones pictured above from Lombardi's and Bianco in AZ) and pizzeria pizza. While good gourmet pizza CAN be found all around the country, good pizzeria pizza does not exist outside NY/NJ. Chicago pan is cool once in a while, but that's it....IMHO of course.

I have to disagree. I have had some great pizza in NY, but the best NY pizza I've ever had is from Ramunto's in NH. But then, they are from Brooklyn.
