I don't see a reason to do this. There is a car exisitng from Lotus which you don't have to modify which fits perfectly against a Ariel Atom.
It's called the Lotus 2-eleven.

Right from the manufacturer ready to hit the track/canyon/street because it's street legal.

I believe this was done way before the 2-11 was even announced

It's almost taking it too far, but think it's pretty bad ass salavge or not. All the work done looks good and that exhaust is sick.

The 2 Eleven is street legal. And is a great looking car in person. Would be an absolute blast for a track car.

This lotus is cool but I wouldnt do it to it!

211 is not street legal in the US
From Lotus USA: "Although most drivers will be track day specialists or club sport racers, there’s even a package that enables the 2-Eleven to be used as a road car offering the very highest standards of performance."

I didn't know this 5 minutes ago. Interesting.

That is because Lotus USA uses the British website (explore the site and notice UK spelling- tyres, etc). You can't get the headlight package here.

I know several people who have 211's and they are not road legal in the US. I know of one person who imported a clam with headlights and tried to get it registered here and failed.
This is the reason why the guy who owned the above Elise cut it up like that.
If you want a road legal track car, you can get a Caterham or Atom, they're arguably more exciting than a 211 anyway ;)

That started out as a new Elise and turned into a pice of crap by a guy with no clue....
It's now the poster child for what not to do to your new car..
