"Apparently a technical malfunction caused the crash, not so much driver error. Not like we'll ever know for sure obviously. Not too surprising, the driver broke both legs."

Wow... I'm really shocked at the lack of integrity of the chassis, a brick wall is not THAT hard relatively. It's still made up of smaller pieces glued together, if it was concrete I could maybe see that happening. An Atom should have been a much fairer match for a wall like that. Hope the driver makes a full recovery, and I hope the makers of that car do some SERIOUS analysis on it.

It is totally acceptable. Any other vehicle that isn't based off a tube chassis design would have EASILY made the damage/destruction 10x worse. The overall design of the Atom held up quite well. A full framed vehicle may have faired similar to the Atom, but any unibody car would have been toast.
