Apple -- WORST customer service I've ever experienced bar none! Hours spent on hold - multiple transfers / no one at apple can take ownership of your problem. However -- they do speak english - suggest you purchase at a NON apple store and have the store (like a best buy) deal with any service issues.
Really? I have experience the EXACT opposite experience, I went into the apple store without a reservation with my MBP to get it replaced since I dropped it and bent my casing to where I can't enter a CD anymore and they replaced it right there with out telling my to schedule a appointment, under warranty.
Same with my iPhone 4, I dropped in 1 week after buying and went to get it replaced and they did for free no questions asked.... I have a tendency of dropping everything I own, it's a habit I need to get checked out.

I can't say the same with Dell, I have had my issues with them :bitenails:

I've had a 15" MBP for almost 7 years now, and it still runs awesome! Meanwhile my dad has gone through 3 PC's (He's ready to make the switch). Getting ready to pick up an iPad and a MBA in the next month or two.

Exact same scenario.. 4 years on a mbp.. Getting ready to switch to a mba/ipad

I've had a 15" MBP for almost 7 years now, and it still runs awesome! Meanwhile my dad has gone through 3 PC's (He's ready to make the switch). Getting ready to pick up an iPad and a MBA in the next month or two.

to clarify

Daughters Mac purchased at an Apple store and serviced at an apple store with little problems (she has a store in close proximity) Sons computer purchased at a Non apple store (Best Buy) as his school is not within 2 hours of an Apple store - it appears that IF NOT purchased at an apple store they simply don't want to provide any service, provide the free updates or have anything to do with non apple store sales. They have made it quite apparent as they have once again declined the FREE OS LION update to my son as the purchase was made over 90 days age ---- our receipt provided to them clearly list the purchse date less than three weeks ago!!! Looks like I'm in for another hour and a half of hold time tonight.

Going to have to agree. My macbook pro slipped off my bed, maybe 1.5 feet at most, and stopped turning on. Took it in, they looked it over, decided it needed to be sent in, and I had it back and running by the end of the week. No cost to me.

Well I finally bit the bullet and purchased a MBP. I picked up the basic 13 inch model. Nothing fancy but I am happy with it.

Got a macbook pro for grad 2010. Bought a case and not a single scratch on it and works like new. Never going to leave Apple since me and my sister are Apple fans :p so MCP is always good but $$ compare too regular laptops

Most likely it didn't have a dent. When I worked with an apple certified tech he had to stop servicing computers with any visible damage because the system logged that he had worked on one, later the same computer went to an apple store, and he almost had to pay apple for the parts. I recommend not dropping them, haha.
