The greenest resort in Liwa (outside Abu Dhabi) is about to make its 2017 debut in the middle of a desert!

Baharash Architecture, the firm tasked with creating this environmentally-friendly resort in the Emirates Desert, recently revealed their plans for the massive project—and to say they’re cool would be the understatement of the year.

The Oasis Eco Resort is set to feature 84 suites, a wellness centre, and a business and research facility. All spaces are designed around a major spring that’s meant to be used for crop irrigation, water sports, and even fish farming.

The resort’s on-site restaurant and bar will offer indigenous as well as organic international cuisines, but guests can also choose the option of foraging for their own produce/catching fish at meal times. Hunting for your own food not really your thing? No worries, Oasis is already preparing for daily delivery of fruits, veggies, dairy and meats from a variety of local farmers nearby.
Other ways Oasis Eco is planning on going green: an enforced zero emission zone is in the works as well as 157,000 square feet of solar panels, all waste water is to be recycled for irrigation AND they’ll employ conservation staff and wildlife biologists (for the animals currently inhabiting the area).
