Depends on how many days you spend in Abu Dhabi or Dubai?
Dubai is where you can have fun, they have got a nightlife and good restaurants. The famous i would say is Zuma which is located in an area called DIFC. that place is like a financial district for banks regional and international. Then you got the BURJ Khalifa, the tallest tower in the world, the observatory deck is amazing. They even made another deck at level 124 or something. Abu Dhabi just has some amazing hotels, Like the Emirates palace.

And depends on what other places/things you have in mind to check out during your stay?

I am doing the burj. I am trying to get info on the top of the tower tour. I know its rare, but they allow you to actually climb on the top.

Also looking to try the restaurant at the top of the burj too.

I have been on groupon looking at things, as it had a lot of cool ideas.

I am also going to meet up with a local offroad club, and do some wheeling as I do here in the states.
the falcon hospital, no interest in ferrari world, and yeah

Looking at 4 days in dubai, and 2 in abu dhabi, with a possible trip to oman. I would love to go visit some friends stationed, but the gf would not be up for it.

You mean the observatory deck? they do allow people for that. Don't know about the top of Burj.
You mean the Atmosphere restaurant by Armani?
There are a lot of offroading clubs here, so I pretty much think it will be fun for you.

Hey mrmikey23, I just got back from Dubai and i would recommend that if you go to Abu Dhabi that it is just for a day trip. Ferrari world is a main attraction, however I found that there was not much to do there, keeping in mind that I am a huuge Ferrari fan and have owned plenty as well  Also if you are committed on going to Ferrari world, i would recommend you purchase the premium passes, and that entails you skip the hour+ long lines for almost everything. What I did was once I was leaving, i sold my tickets to people waiting in the queue to purchase tickets, and you should get most of your money back as well as skip the lines  Also if you are in Abu Dhabi, one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at is Brasserie Angelique, in the Etihad Towers. They have very fine french cuisine. Also, if you are in Etihad towers, it is just a massive piece of art from the marble finishes and also the Crystal Dome (ask at reception and they will show you where it is.) is one of the finest details that I have seen.

In Dubai, if you are going to see the observation deck at Burj Khalifa, i would recommend that you don't bother and have High Tea at the At.Mosphere restaurant, as it is only 15d more expensive ($5 US) and then you also get to spend more time at the top. The antenna tour is possible, however you have to book it weeks, if not, months ahead and I have heard that it costs over US $1000 per person. Instead I would recommend Skydive Dubai, as you can get to higher altitude as well as experience the altitude, it is truly unforgettable. It is also cheaper (if what I have heard about the antenna walk is true) and then you would not really need to do a helicopter tour, as the skydive plane shows you a perspective of the main city, as well as the fact that you can see it very well when you are falling out from the plane. As I can speak Hindi, it was very easy for me to interact with the taxi drivers, however you will be better off with hiring a driver from your hotel for the day as i had too many mishaps with drivers even though I could communicate with them. This is because they are all from India and they don't really know the place like a local would. Therefore I spent 3 hours trying to find a restaurant called Sho Cho, which was different, but not amazing. The Gold Souk is an absolute must as you see so much amazing pieces. There is one store that has a 22k Gold Dress, 24k Burj Khalifa 180cm and 160kg Gold Brick, and that is just one shop. I would recommend a desert safari, however if you are not used to the dunes, I know of some people that have got sick from the up, down terrain. Camel riding, Falcon racing, Dune Buggys and traditional Arab dinners are all available with the desert safari.

Hope this helps you plan your trip. Get back to me if you need any specific details.

thanks JK!

I am in the works with a local club right now. Ive dune bashed in my jeep, a quad, and a sand rail.

I did cell tower work here in chicago for a bit, which is why the antenna tour interests me soooo much!

our plans are 4 days dubai, one day oman, and maybe one day abu dhabi. NO ferrari world either. Just not of any interest.

Looked at the falcon hospital, as it is one of my favorite animals.

btw, it is very cheap there.

I prefer local foods when i travel over the big name places. though i did have some fine dining.

I spent no more then $20usd for meals for two people, unless it was a bigger place.

I used airbnb to rent an appt. on the palm jumeriah. I used taxis and the metro to commute, and uber. Driving there is nuts, and I am used to driving in puerto rico and chicago.

I did dune bashing on rented quads over the safari. visited the falcon hospital in abu dhabi, as well as the mosque.

I have a lot of pics, and great stories. I felt safer there, then i do here in chicago. The people are some of the nicest i have met.

I can keep going and going, but if anyone would like some advice, please feel free to message me
