I just don't know:
Is the new 997.2 engine block shared between the base and the turbo cars?

In the 996 the M96 motor was totally different than what was used in the Turbo and GT2/3 cars.

What is the deal with the new engine/model line up?

Thanks.

997.1 turbo still uses GT1 block...all GT3s use GT1 block...997.1 uses the GT1 block

997.2 uses the DI M97 motor...now i am not sure about the GT2 RS though; maybe someone can clarify on this one.

I thought the Carrera 997.1 (pre DFI) used the M96 block.

meant to say on that last part 997.1 GT2 uses GT1 block.

All carrera/4/s etc used the m96 block.

997.1 turbo/gt3/rs/gt2 used GT1 block

997.2 only GT3/RS/GT2/RS use the GT1 block

Ah, OK. So 997.2 Turbo is DFI M97 I wonder if it will stand to be as bulletproof as the GT1 motors were. (I kinda doubt it.) The 996 Turbo still stands to be the best deal out there!
