Happy 4th of July y’all! In honor of our country’s birthday (and because this is my lunch break), we should start a thread of the best-est (or just our favorite) American cars of all time.
(Full disclosure: Those new Corvette commercials on Speed Channel got me all fired up and proud this weekend!)
So share you favorites and why they’re your favorites.
I’ll go first…
The Dodge Viper, particularly these last few versions (i.e. the ACR). It’s brutal/violent and refined all at the same time. In the right hands, it can hold its own against damn near any car in the world.
The Pontiac GTO…because it’s arguably the first mass-produced “Muscle Car.” To me, Muscle Cars are factory built hot rods that were built primarily for straight line speed and affordability. To me, although other countries do a great job with them, muscle cars are “our” thing!
So, in the words of a great American poet… “Bring ‘em out – Bring ‘em out”!
