During Super Car Sunday at the circuit of Assen I have filmed the 2018 Ford GT Heritage Edition.
Ford Performance is putting a vintage spin on a modern marvel of automotive engineering. Introducing the 2018 Ford GT ‘67 Heritage edition, a special, limited-run version of the modern supercar.
“In creating a worthy successor to the 2017 Heritage edition, we logically looked at our next historic Le Mans victory with the all-American team of Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt,” said Dave Pericak, global director, Ford Performance. “The 2018 Ford GT ’67 Heritage edition pays homage to that win, with a modern take on one of the most important vehicles in Ford’s storied history of racing.”
Racing history fans will notice the styling cues immediately. Between the glossy Race Red paint scheme and classic racing stripes, the 2018 Ford GT ‘67 Heritage edition resemblances the car that took Le Mans by storm fifty years ago. This limited-edition Ford GT also comes emblazoned with Frozen White No.1 hood and door graphics. Rounding out the 1960s look are red calipers and silver rearview mirror caps.
Bold red accent stitching on the leather trimming for the seats and steering wheel, plus all-new red safety belt webbing, help carry inside that unmistakable exterior design. The discerning eye will also notice that the 2018 Heritage edition has anodized gray paddle shifters, satin dark stainless appliqués, as well as a unique serialized ID plate and exposed matte carbon fiber door sills, air register pods and center console.
