Everyone who has ever won on that has won by luck. Pretty much no chance for any reasonable trader to win...only gun slingers who get lucky lol.

But hey, might be worth a mil to make some high risk bets since there is no real money involved haha

open 20 accounts to 'play' the cnbc challenge

in each account, find stocks under $5 that have big news coming up

    (i think the rules are it's long-only)

    so long from 10 accounts

keep repeating with 1/2 of the winning accounts

I don't think they allow stocks under $5. My initial plan going in was to find penny stocks(all the way down to the 000's) and throw a huge amount at them in the game but they have a list of securities that can be traded(all big boards) and I don't recall seeing anything trading under $5 on there, though I didn't take the time to look through every security. Anyways, I'm in for this contest. It should be a fun way to sharpen my trading without actually risking money.

On each CNBC account, you are limited to 5 portfolios for the contest.
There are only four sports: bullfighting, motor racing, mountaineering, and troll hunting; all the rest are merely games.

I'm in the 98% as well. The format is too restrictive for me though(no shorting, derivatives, limit orders, stop losses etc.)
