Default Who Provides The Best Stock Scanner + Charting

Looking to pick up a Scanning / Charting Platform Subscription. I know they are very expensive, so I want to go to one that's the best, so once I master it, I don't have to move to a new platform and have to learn it all over again. I think Think Or Swim has it embeded in their platform Software. Saw some reviews, looked nice and solid. Also I know VectorVest7 has a nice scanner, as well. Who are you guys using? Does it pay the $120/month subscription?

hey bud! vectorvest is no good! trust me they have been scamming people for years. thinkorswim has just as a good one and its free. If you want a cheap end of day scanner charter i have a sub to telechart by worden its 30 bucks. its 79.99 for the realtime scanner/charter/sorter. esignal is very very nice also but thats the lamborgini of things its like 150 bucks. too pricey for me!

So if you have your money in your Broker say E-Trade or Scottrade etc... If you get the eSignal, can you make trades within the eSignal, or do you have to execute your orders inside your own broker's platform?

I think TOS is ultimately what's going to be my next broker.

yeah with esginal it can connect to multiple types of brokers. and u can trade and chart from there.

tos is a bit pricey but if u put the ehat on them ask them for 5.00 flat trades. they will give it toyou if you tell the specials other brokers have they will match

Hmm, I think I'll do that right after I bring my damn balance to DTP of 25K.

Esignal on demand isnt 100+ a month..more like 30 something, but if you need streaming charts then it's expensive.

finviz is a free scanner to check out .

I've been using FinViz for a year, and never though that was free. I thought that was premium content. I also joined Think or Swim today, so that also has a scanner. What seem to work best for you gentleman as far as criteria when setting up your scans. If you were to narrow a few key points as far as most important to lease what would you suggest. This is for a $20K cash account. I like to stay under $5 on these trades, so my number of shares are higher. I used to trade Select, and it's just so expensive, and the low amount of share holdings makes for some stupid decisions, and a loss.

Volume? Price? Market Cap? Earnings? % Gains ??

P.S. I plaid around with the Finviz one yesterday, and today I plaid with the Think or Swim one. That Think or Swim software is no joke. Little intimidated by it to be honest.

    i have etrade and freestockcharts.com
I use FSC for all my research, and etrade just for the broker aspect.
sometimes I'll use the sorter on etrade, but I don't really know what to look for since I am mostly day trading
