Oil Companies - Once in a decade opportunity!
Wanted to come on here and let you in on a few things I have been doing in hopes of being able to help out some peeps. I felt really good after some people on StockTwits followed some of my trades and made some money. Obviously invest at your own discretion boys...
If anyone has input on others, please share!
I have been looking at Oil companies as of late since they have been taking a beating. Here are my three favorites and how I plan on playing this once in a decade opportunity...
1. NBR -66% since summer
2. RIG -64.5% since summer
3. WTI -72% since beginning of summer
These three have dropped a substantial amount and even more so, have all started to skyrocket as investors are trying to play this past week as the bottom...
1. NBR +35% last 5 days
2. RIG +20% last 5 days
3. WTI +35% last 5 days
I will now begin to start buying some Call options for Feb/Mar/Apr/May. Obviously slowly entering my position, every few days for the next couple of weeks. If the stocks start to drop again, il hold until it looks good, than start to buy call options again.
This is a great opportunity gents!

i've been looking into them as well. Based on the news today about how Saudi Arabia said they won't stop supplying oil even if non-OPEC countries do. (Saudi Arabia says won't cut oil output | Reuters)

I can see this trend going on for a little bit longer, so those call options are good dates to be looking at I think.
Can't wait to see how this will play out!
slightly off topic, how are you playing GoPro tomorrow? January puts?A successful man is someone who wakes up in the morning, goes to sleep at night, and does whatever makes him happy in between.

What program are you using for trading and market monitoring? I am thinking of picking up some nbr from my next paycheck, I just picked up some shares of trican well services, they have also been hit pretty bad by the oil crisis and has a really attractive entry point.

I live in the heart of the Permian Basin and have seen these oil busts a few times. Play it smart with the right companies and you will make some good money. The boom / bust cycle times seem to be shortening as well. Used to be 10-15 years, now seems to be more of a 5-6 year cycle.Madness takes a toll. Please have exact change...

I had some Hal options (that i sold right before this cycle took a downturn) so naturally i have a bunch of stock in Hal now. Definitely holding on for the long haul at this point.. once OPEC squeezes out some NAM drilling operators, I think it'll be right back on an upswing. That and any potential news about the Hal/Baker buyout..
