Pharma stock potential
Anyone bother with them? I know some of my buddies exclude pharma from their portfolios, but I have increasing interest in them since I could be prescribing the very drugs on trial in a few years. Nasdaq's top pharmas seem to be safe holds especially Incyte. Im looking at ARNA, VVUS, OMER, and ZLCS now especially after Z160 failed. I haven't dont enough research for any of these to be buys in my book yet but I am pretty damn willing to gamble on a few."Remember who's putting bread on whose table"

I just started dabbling in them, for lack of a better term. HZNP has done well for me.

Thinking about getting in on 1 or 2. Ill do some research on them tonight. Did you read the thread on ZLCS? Seems like they have already had their run, but i haven't read up on them much.

They definitely have huge potential, especially when they have big news like FDA results coming up inthe near future, but I wouldn't hold them through that. A lot of people buy them a few months before these events and hold until right before and then sell for a nice gain. They also can go against you pretty bad. CYTR for example, has had some positive news lately and hasn't really done anything forme, still holding it though.

These are all speculative so I've chosen only one as mentioned in other threads. Buy some AMBS shares for under a nickel per share with money you can afford to lose and forget about it for a couple years. Just my opinion.

If you guys are looking for some good biotech stocks, I'd look into ATHX and CYTR. Holding both of these right now and looking good for a nice run up.

I'm currently invested in a stock called Unilife (UNIS on the Nasdaq or UNS on the ASX) and that's a rarity for me since I don't trade stocks much. They're a medical device company with some revolutionary products. In the second half of this year they've signed long term supply deals with Sanofi and MedImmune (subsidiary of AstraZeneca) with more to come. Revenues have been steadily ramping up so it's definitely one to watch. Low risk now that there are some contracts in the bag.
As always do your own research. Best of luck.
