eh...had it not been for the wheel incident Porsche would have taken it. I still think they are the most impressive team in the GT2 class. Im looking for the three-peat from them this year.

Great race - great to see them come out strong this year!

Porsche would have needed a little help to beat Ferrari I think - they ran a really solid race and have proved that they know what they are doing in endurance races. But that is why they run the races! If the vettes didnt take care of them selves they would have also been a force to be reckoned with!

Congrats to Leh and his team for winning the GTC Class - solid race!

Guess we will see what happens? All I know, is the M3's finished 2nd and 3rd setting a new lap record in the process... ;)

I was there for the race, and watched all 12 hours. The Risi Ferrari was best by far. The vettes for sure got a very human chill up their spine from them being able to pound everyone every year in a row, but they had a entirely new car this year. I saw them pass up the 62 Ferrari, along with all the BMW's and Flying Lizards. Shit luck is what killed them. tons of pit violations, runing into each other in the pit lanes:confused: and the number 4 car lost its headlights. Which speaking of, I saw him taking some madass turns full throttle into pitch blackness....def had some balls and knew the track. But the Italians and Germans took this one. Vette will be back;)

In case some didnt know, this Year Vette is now GT2. they have 200 extra lbs, steal brakes (ditch the carbon:confused:) and almost 200 less horsepower. Went from the 427 to a 5.5L short stroke with a big 4.1 bore.

They tend to hold them only when BMW is not racing because Porsche lobbies to get the rules changed ;)
Well, considering Porsche holds the most records at Sebring (like their 13 year win streak among other) as well as many, many other race tracks, as well as most victories in history, it has nothing to do with who is racing or who isnt...because they all end up behind one the most successful race car in history.
Its all good...i still like bmw racing, but just been a fan of porsche longer.

No worries, I'm a fan of BMW's racing.

I was specifically referring to issue stemming from the 4.0 liter V8 which was defeating Porsche back with the M3 GTR and Porsche has the rules changed to prevent BMW from racing.

Basically, BMW did not have an ALMS program until last year due to that so Porsche had several years without BMW's direct competition.

I remember that issue, but bmw was clearly in the wrong, violating the homologation rules.
Porsche was absurdly dominant last year though from start to finish where bmw still had an impressive car, along with a field of impressive cars, especially that vette.
