I searched and didn't see thread with a relevant date.....Grew up a Jordan Head but I chose to get out that game as the market got flooded....Rarely did I have a non pair of Nike's and recently have tried Addidas and Puma with mixed results....I used to have tons of Air Max and I see the 360 versions and now Flywire etc out today so I purchased a pair to see how they are. I'm also curious about Asics and others, I've read tons of reviews but it gets muddy. It would be great to have a day to just try shoes out but that is not feasible.

So, what running/walking shoes do you all recommend? Looking for comfort (style kinda matters too), I am 6"5, 250 so a lot of weight goes on these shoes lol. Maybe I just need to lose weight:lol: Or get a Segway:lol:

Thanks in advance.

A big thing for comfort, has a lot to do with inserts. I had custom inserts made a few months ago, by a guy who has done a lot of inserts for the lakers. Makes a Gigantic difference. Instead of having to pick a shoe based on your arch, width, etc. every shoe will be the perfect setup for your foot.

I guarantee your back, knees, etc. will all be night and day after you get used to them. Especially if you're running. Off the shelf nikes, reebok, will absolutely kill your knees, and ankles. I was hobbling around for a month after running in my reeboks. Showed them to a friend who is a professional runner, and he was shocked I was running in them.

But, if you don't want to go that route, check out runningwarehouse.com.

I'd be really interested in who you went to, I'm in Los Angeles and I need inserts. I'm a distance runner and I haven't had any luck with store bought inserts, as my distances increase it has become more and more necessary.

Thanks in advance!

totally depends on your foot type and your running style, etc. If you want something out of the box, hit up a good running specific store and have them fit you. Most will do a video or visual analysis and help you find the right shoe.

I have Mizuno Wave Inspires, but that's for the way that I run. Mizuno makes a ton of different types for different types of runners. Get analyzed. It will save you in the long run.

Another thing that most people don't realize is that you can't keep a pair of running shoes forever. They wear down and the rubber in them degrades. Anytime I run and start having shin pain, I know it's time for a new pair of shoes. And EVERY time that happens, a new pair fixes it.

This. When I first got back into running I picked up a pair of new balance sneakers (some random runners not the casual ones) and I basically destroyed my knees. I couldn't run without my knees, ankles of calves hurting. I went to a running shop, they did an analysis (took 5 minutes) and they set me up with a pair of Nike Pegasus 28s. I've been running about 10-15 miles per week with little to no pain for almost a year.

The comfort has a lot to do with how the shoe is designed. Different strides, arches etc mean the cushioning and support are placed differently.
As far as everyday shoes go I've found the classic AirMaxs to be very tough (guessing the compound) and heavy, but they're cool so I still rock them. If I was on my feet all day I'd switch to a more modern running shoe.

Nikes are so overrated its not even funny. Adidas Ultra Boost or Under Armour Speedform Fortis is the way to go. I prefer the UB out of the two but either is easily better than any Nike out right now. I have or tried on any running /walking shoe you can thing of from Brooks to Mizuno to Asics to Saucony to New Balance....You name it I have tried it on or own it. UA and Adidas Boost offer the best cushioning and comfort right now.
