It is very quiet in here. Anyone making some 2014 F1 Predictions?
Do you think Vettel can achieve 5 in a row?
Will Alonso and Kimi get along?
Will Riccardo be able to keep pace with Vettel?

I think Vettel will still be strong and will have a good shot at #5. Alonso and Kimi will never get along, especially when Kimi out performs Alonso from the very first on track session. The power delivery of the new engine package is going to be so different that I think we will see some surprises. Some of the top five current drivers won't adapt well, and some others will rise up. The rookies may have an easier time because they are not having to un-learn previous generation car habits.

from what i've read, many people seem to think the changes wont hinder Vettel's train of success.

What are your guys's thoughts on the double points in the last race? I think its the dumbest shit in the world, there's so many things that are out of everyones control that could end up completely screwing the leader at that point. I think if they want to add some extra points up for grabs, give out some points for fastest qualifying and fastest lap in the race. Itll be spread out over the whole season and anyone can get an extra point here and there (my friend came up with that idea, i thought it was great)

I have a suspicion that newey is going to have a few tricks up his sleeve to get the absolute most out of these new regulations. Also if they actually did have TC for the end of last season and it is still compatible with all the updates should be another easy win for Vettel.

If Vettel wins the championship this year I will sh*t my pants. I cannot stand RBR (perhaps because they are so good) therefore I would really like to see Kimi or Alonso win this year. then I will be super chuffed :)

The driver line-ups are interesting. I never thought Sergio would fit at McLaren. And now Jenson has the unfortunate motivation to win for his Dad's memory (RIP John Button). Kamui back in F1 could spice things as he is willing to take the chances to advance. Very excited to see the new cars and see the progress the teams have made. If they wanted a double points race, have a lottery at each race to draw the double, and once it is done, forget about it till next season, otherwise, $hitcan the idea. Autosport did a double points last race scenario over the entire championship era and only found five or so champions that would have benefitted. Of course my loyalties fall to the Maranello boys, maybe Luca kicked enough ass in the off-season to get the results needed for another constructors champonship!

Definitely some different interpretations of the rules. Lotus have asymmetrical nose extensions which other teams say violate the 'spirit' of the regs. Since Lotus are missing this test, we won't know for awhile. Apparently the RB10 just passed the crash tests days before this first test. Looking forward to more....Kimi on top of the timesheets!

I'm loving the diversity in the front wing design.
Also I had my doubts with the sound of the engines, but after hearing a few of them now, I think they sound great

I agree it's a strange sound, but when those turbos spool up to 150k rpm, it's pretty sweet

^ they kind of do. The turbos can be spooled electrically, essentially eliminating any lag a turbo would usually have :)

From what I've been reading, if Red Bull can fix their car, I think Vettel will have the edge again this year. The general opinion I've found in regard to Vettel's driving style is that he's very good at allocating the resources provided to him ( KERS, now ERS, DRS, tyers ect. ) throughout the whole race. Since there is a lot more of that this year I think if he doesn't succeed, it will be because of that power plant.

That being said, I've been waiting a long time to see Kimi back at Ferrari and want nothing more to see him grab the drivers championship.

Im also interested to see how Nico Rosberg does, I like seeing Mercedes do so well.

Williams confirm Martini sponsorship and reveal livery

Williams have confirmed a new sponsorship deal with Martini and revealed their car’s colour scheme for 2014.

“Williams and Martini share a rich history in the world of motorsport, and the values of our two brands and our shared passion for racing make this partnership a natural fit,” said team founder Frank Williams.

“It will be great to see the distinctive stripes of Martini Racing return to Formula One once again in unison with Williams.”

The Martini history has a long history in motor racing, having appeared on Porsche sports cars, Lancia rally and sports cars, and Brabham, Lotus and Ferrari F1 cars as well as many others.
