    Sorry for the delay...

Welcome to Sant'Agata. Home of Lamborghini.

The time has come. After having seen so many pictures and after having had the opportunity to sit in at IAA, it is my great pleasure today to take a seat in the new Lamborghini flagship – the Aventador. Some introductory words by Mr. Carmassi (the owner of Sant'Agata Bullbar) to go and I can finally get started.
I start the car – wonderful! After a short warming phase I leave the factory premises heading to the best place for testing the Aventador – the streets of its home in Sant'Agata.

In strada mode I enter the Lamborghini “test track” (Lamborghini models are still tested on public roads). Along the small roads near the factory I drive past a lot of people who smile at me. Still, I'm quite relaxed though noting with every little move of my foot the bull's striving for speed. But it's not yet the time. More fun comes up when switching to sport mode; the bull starts playing with its muscles. After some easy overtaking manoeuvres it's time to check the correctness of the manufacturer's switching speed specification.

“Corsa” - there are three cars and two trucks in front of me. The Fiat and Lancia drivers can guess what is going to happen and give way. I can't remember anymore what exactly happened then – my bellows or the brutal speeding up of the Aventador? Crazy! It's incredibly faster than expected. I pass three cars within only a few seconds – but suddenly one of the trucks swerves left and bars my way. The brakes react immediately and without compromise. The sprint is interrupted at once and the bull stays calmly behind the obstacle waiting for the next chance. And it doesn't take long. A new sprint with breath-taking speed follows. Breath-taking in the truest sense of the word as it seems that the mere power that pushes me forward makes me forget breathing.
Being one with the Lambo I go on, always looking ahead. Definitely better than looking aside due to the massive power resulting from the sporty style of driving.
It's admirable what Lamborghini has come up with. Though, I'm not the only one to experience the Aventador. Back at the factory premises it's hard to leave the car behind after such a great performance. But my Lamborghini farewell is by no means for a long time.

Wrrrrrrrmmmm, ROOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR. With my alarm clock ringing a new day starts. But it's not my alarm clock. It's “only“ an Aventador passing my hotel on a test drive. Every day could start like this.

Welcome to Sant'Agata. Home of Lamborghini. Yes, you can really feel that everyone here is infected with the bull. So, let's go to the meeting point. Some Lamborghini owners are said to meet today in order to participate together in the “Tribute to Ferruccio Lamborghini“ event.

Just after a short ride, I can see an open Diablo door. There are Lamborghini cars of almost every type – 350 GT, Diablo, Countach, Espada, Murciélago and Gallardo.

I introduce myself to the first Lamborghini owners, amongst them Maurizzio, my chauffeur for this event. I take my camera out and head to the Lamborghini passing the Gallardos from Belgium and a Swiss Diablo SV with affolter wing. I'm so happy about what's happening next. Maurizzio opens a dreamlike “Giallo Orion” LP670-SV by remote control. Altogether we go to the Sant'Agata marketplace for bull promotion. People take pictures and talk to each other. The nearby school interrupts classes so that the pupils can have a look at the bulls. Everybody, regardless of whether they are old or young, locals or tourists, male or female, take pictures, take a closer look at the Lambos and feel just very happy.

Even Valentino Balboni is amongst the participants, says hello to us and admires the cars. I'm amazed by somebody having seen and gone by more Lamborghinis than anybody else taking pictures himself. He really seems to enjoy seeing so many models in one place and is especially taken with a 350 GT driven by Ferrucio and Enzo Ferrari - a unique and historic model.

We move on to the factory premises.

We have the chance to take pictures of Fabio Lamborghini (host of the event) between Miura, 350 GT and Countach and afterwards, we continue our visit in the museum. We are the only visitors to the museum and the factory. Before entering the factory we listen to some instructions. We are not allowed to take pictures, unfortunately, and have to leave everything outside. But I've heard all this before as this is not my first visit. With a smile they tell us about the small surprises waiting for all of us. Even Fabio doesn't know about this. Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Lamborghini, shortly comes around to say hello.

Now, we are shown how Aventador and Gallardo are produced. We are impressed by the variety of colours and the high number of Lamborghinis to be seen inside the factory. Afterwards, we take a little ride to a nice restaurant where we enjoy a fabulous Italian lunch.

In the afternoon, we go to a small village where they open a huge and old wooden door for us. Inside the patio is room for all of the 35 Lamborghinis and the drivers and co-drivers are offered cold refreshing drinks as well as the opportunity to admire a collection of pre-war models. Later, we go back to the meeting point and the owners get ready for the gala dinner taking place at a wonderful property where the participants can conclude the first day with a number of awards given to the most beautiful Lamborghinis.

The second day, the 28th of April, is the birthday of Ferruccio Lamborghini. The participants are still enjoying their breakfast as the escort arrives. Because, once again, we're going to cruise around the wonderful Italian countryside. The escort gets ready and the policemen take pictures of themselves with the Lamborghinis. But I'm attracted by a very special police car – the Polizia-Gallardo – ready to make way for its companions.

And so it goes. All the bulls follow the Polizia-Gallardo. The locals are unable to decide what they like best – the great number of Lamborghinis or the Polizia-Gallardo. It's difficult for all of them to take pictures of everything. On our way, more Lamborghinis join us. We cruise around the wonderful Italian countryside having a lot of fun and enjoying nice conversations with the participants. No matter how old we are or where we come from, we come along with each other very well and have all one thing in common – our enthusiasm for Automobili Lamborghini. At the Fabio Lamborghini museum we have a last glance at some of Ferruccio Lamborghini's collectibles, pictures and souvenirs.

With a nice dinner we conclude the event for which I would like to thank you, Fabio Lamborghini, very much.
