I just got the plans from my architekt. What are your thoughtsÐ? Something I could change before I start. You guys have maybe some ideas that I dont know even exist out there.
This is the style it will be built in.

Did your architect use an engineer, those spans seem pretty far to not have columns from the low res picture. Unless they are calling for the use of I beams or truss's I don't think they are accurately accounting for the load, especially if your in Iceland, where the weight of snow adds a lot to a roof's load.

Agreed, a couple of dormers would be nice like the photo you posted. Plus they would allow some natural day light in.

Are the doors motorized? Just curious cause I had a client with a similar style door that later regretted his choice because he had to manual open and close the doors.

Depending on budget some radiant heat in the floor would be a nice touch. Nothing like a nice warm floor when you want to work on your car. It would also be a very efficient way to heat the space due to the large thermal mass it has.

Alright, my list:

• Ceilings as high as possible, possibly vaulted. Could do a loft over the area where cars won't be parked or lifted.
• Radiant heating in the floor
• Industrial high solids epoxy flooring, the lighter color the better (no epoxy if heavy amounts of welding to be done)
• Well thought out lighting, especially in the work areas.
• 2 post lift in right most bay, 4 post lifts in another bay if additonal car storage needed.
• Floor drain for washing cars inside??
• Small exterior room to house air compressor for shop air
• Several well placed compressed air drops, some with hose reels
• Two tone walls, darker on the bottom, lighter on the top.
• at least 1 stainless steel work surface
• Sink with hot / cold water
• Storage and more storage. Keeping everything hidden will make it look nicer.
• Jackshaft garage door openers (Liftmaster 3800 I think?) to keep things clear overhead. Make the door tracks hug the ceiling as tight as possible also. Or use carriage doors.

Spend some time in the garage gallery forum on GarageJournal.com for ideas.

I would add some electronics; LED LCD TV's in two areas, one by the 2 post lift and another in an appropriate place of the garage (haven't decided yet).
Surveillance cameras on all the bays and exterior as well as the entrance door. Speaker system to play some tunes when working.

Also can't forget the fire suppression system, urinal, and beer fridge.

You can use it for storage, but you'll have to get additional lift bridges to be able to do tire or suspension work. Don't forget there are other types like in floor and mid-rise scissor lifts. I've even seen the latter flush-mounted in concrete. Very slick.
