the reason I dont want to get a "regular amg" if there is such a thing. is because I really want to stand out with this car. my wife will be picking up her (new to her) 04 sl55 this tuesday from the dealer..while I am super excited about that...I cant have a slower/same car as my wife.
my dad drives a 2010 s65 as his daily and my mom had a s55 brabus for a long time. and I love both cars...but I cant have a slower car than them either
my last car was an s550 and i felt so old in that car...some recent events in my life has made me decide that I need to live a lil more. no 4 door cars for me anymore

He makes a good point! on the other hand I understand you want the most AMG has to offer and not just a regular 63/65 amg :P that said here are my only other guidelines.

    Comfort/speed combo: obviously SLR/SLS
Speed/stand out: SLR/SL65 BS(dunno if you've seen any in person but omg... pictures do not do justice, the SLS is cool but not SLBS cool)
$$$ Wise: all 3 will hold value fairly well but since SLR's are getting older compared to the other 2/will be replaced sooner than later i'd say it could be getting late in the hour to buy one if its a low millage still high priced one, but on the other hand for the prices they'll be at it will definitely be a steal for the performance you'll get

at the end of the day though they're all part of that close to perfect all around great car AMG family, no decision is a wrong decision

I suggest a Bentley GT as an everyday driver before an SLR. Buy them both, they're sure to not disappoint.

AND if you do plan on the SLR, it is not a good resale car with all those miles.

thats an option...but I really want something rwd...and everybody and their mom has a bentley here...I know the ss is different....but I want something that will stand out much much more than that....and nothing can stand out more than an slr....the ulitimate batmobile.

I dont think I will sell it...I think all the cars that I keep here on out will be unique in their own right that will make me want to add to the herd not thin it out

all the cars I had before (s4, a5, gallardo, s550, 996tt, a6) were cars that could be replaced by other substitutes...sls/slr are cars that i think cant be replaced by any other cars.
