Update - I picked up my check from the dealership a few days ago. MB provided payment reimbursement for all 4 months of payments I have made. Everything has been good with the car since getting it back (knock on wood - knock on wood a million times). Keeping my fingers crossed but if it throws the check engine light one more time then that's it - it gets lemoned. I made sure that when I agreed to take the compensation and when I signed for it from the cashier I wasn't signing something that limited my ability to eventually lemon it if need be. Actually, the note on the check stub says "Customer inconvenience/customer loyalty", which is pretty cool. MB was great this entire time. Kudos to them. Throughout this process I've done quite a bit of research and I've come across a lot of instances where the company did NOT do the right thing - companies like Ferrari, Lexus, Bentley, etc. So, at the end of the day, I've got to give it to MB. Having owned an S63, G63, GL63 and now S65 I will certainly remain brand loyal.2015 Cadillac Escalade (white)

If it makes you feel any better, I bought a new BMW 3 years ago, it spent first 2.5 weeks at the garage waiting for parts from Germany because of some electrical failure. Two months later, the car wouldn't start because of a fuel injection problem, spent 3 weeks waiting for parts (they misread the situation and ordered wrong parts first time). It's a matter of luck, a friend of mine bought the exact same car just couple of months earlier and had 0 problems until now. You should ask for comencation, I got 3 free oil & brake changes.

Geez. Seriously--At some point you have to circumvent inept, asshole dealerships because many of them LIE and/or exaggerate the truth. I just replaced both my suspension airbags and the suspension compressor, which came straight from Germany, in my BMW X5 for around $800. All the parts came in 4 days, and it took me a total of 3 hours to knock this out. If I had gone the Dealership route I would have been out between 5 to $8,000 and in their garage for 2 months. Even if you don't have the mechanical capacity you can shop the internet and get the parts you need in less than half the time it takes for these dealerships to get their parts.
