I stopped by the body shop today with [email protected] to see progress of the build...

The whole body kit has been put on for test fitting and they were happy with it and they started to paint...the only thing not painted yet are the front bumper, rear bumper and roof.

The rest of the painted panels still need color sanding so if it looks less than glossy that is the reason. We have used this shop for all our builds so I am not worried about the end product. It'll be there probably about 3 more weeks...even though he told me 2 weeks it'll be done. He is an old school painter that tells time by sun dial but we take that into consideration because of the quality work he does.

Damn...lookin nice! Seems like a hell of a lot of work to get it right. Don't they make the kits to fit correct if they are basically duplicate of the real black series? I was thinking of Prior Design kit, but would like to see one done first. You happen to be in Southern CA to take a look?

Other side of the world brother...Florida. But keep an eye on this thread...more pics coming. Unfortunately, this pretty par for the course with most aftermarket kits. One that truly fits and DOESN'T need mucho prep work is the exception and not the rule.

Ok, I will return here to watch the progress. I tried several times to inquire with Priordesign about their material. Ray in another post here describes the difference in materials, where some use duraflex, or material with wet lay up with polyester resin, or vaccum bag process with epoxy (this seems to be the best in his opinion). So, still not sure what their process or materials are. I am favoring Prordesign because I like the true black series design a little more than modified but that depends on how they look in person. I wass thinking of Samuels kit here in the spdv6 link below, but I believe he uses duraflex which I hear isn't all that great of a product. Are those hood vents on yours functional to exit hot engine air?

The front spoiler piece in CF came in today...damaged...

If you look at the pic below...look at the front spoiler lip...middle piece...in that pic its not CF. It looks like its a matte finish in that pic...

Sending it back it back...hopefully it won't take months like the rest of the kit.
