Back in 1997, Barbara Streisand sold her Mediterranean home when she moved into her new house on Malibu’s Point Dume. Streisand’s 9,500 square foot home with seven baths and five bedrooms was demolished shortly after selling and was sold to David Bohnett. Below is what Streisand’s home used to look like.
Bohnett then sold the lot to Gala Asher of Dream Projects LA in 2014 for $13.25 million, who designed this magnificent Carolwood Mansion which looks more like a nightclub than somewhere to eat, sleep and, well, live!Carolwood Drive can be found in Holmby Hills, which is one to the most exclusive neighborhoods in California. Residents have included Frank Sinatra, Rod Stewart and even Walt Disney!
For that secluded feeling, the home is set at the end of a private road and gate, shielded with plenty of trees and bushes. The front entrance is very dramatic, looking more like a hall than it does a home. The front entrance has enough parking for 50 cars, and that’s not including the 10-car garage! Talk about a party. Should you head directly to the back is, your jaw will be hanging near the floor at the sheer amount of space there is to throw the best party ever. The heated vanishing-edge pool is surrounded by plenty of fire pits to keep the party going even when the sun sets. The home also features its own private hiking trails as well as basketball and tennis courts. The 30,000 square foot interior is no less awe-inspiring. This includes 20 bathrooms (yes, you read that right- 20!) and 10 bedrooms. By the way, the master bedroom was approximately 5,300 square feet of floor space – that’s a lot to space for a room where you mostly just sleep. But who cares, you’re a millionaire! You can count your stacks of cash in this club-looking meeting room, complete with floor-to-ceiling mirrors and plenty of mood lighting. The lower level, also known as the “spa level” has an impressive two-story high ceilings and opens up to the living room. For $150 million, you can have it all.
