The Porsche 911 R is better known as ‘the purist’s Porsche’, capturing the essence and spirit of the German car company.
The first 911 R debuted in 1967, built to help Porsche on the track rather than the streets. The newest 911 R, which was shown recently at the latest Geneva Motor Show, rocks a 4.0-liter flat-six engine just like the GT3 RS.
For the first time, the Porsche’s past and present come together in this unreal video, following both cars as they tear up mountain roads.
What a difference 50 years makes. The ’67 packs just 210hp compared to the ferocious 500 horses the ’16 model brings. And if you thought the 991 models of the ’16 is limited, there were only 23 original models made, making the video all the more special.
