OK, maybe “ruined” is a bit harsh. #TeamDavidLeeRoth.
You’d think a guy nicknamed ‘The Red Rocker’ would by a red Ferrari like everyone else, but former Van Halen front man, Sammy Hagar, recently took delivery of a $1.3 million white LaFerrari hypercar at Ferrari of San Francisco in Mill Valley, California.
With only 499 examples built, even being an internationally famous rock star and Ferrari collector (he drove a 512BB in the video for I Can’t Drive 55) won’t guarantee you a spot on the waiting list. Hagar says he lobbied for year to get on the LaFerrari list and is even making a short film about the experience.
“Sitting in it intimidates me. This car scared me. When I started this car, you probably couldn’t see, but I got goose bumps on my arms,” Hagar told ABC7 News, who was on hand when he picked up the car.
In case you aren’t familiar with it by now, the LaFerrari is the fastest road car and the first hybrid Ferrari has ever sold. It’s V12 is supplemented by an electric motor, and puts out a combined 949-hp. It’ll do 0-60 in 2.4 seconds and has a top speed of 217 mph.
