Get a Glimpse of the Mercedes-AMG Project One’s Interior

A photo taken and shared by AMG’s Tobias Moers has revealed a portion of the upcoming Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar’s interior.

The AMG Project One will feature the 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 engine from Mercedes’ Formula 1 car paired with a Formula 1-derived hybrid system, which together will make over 1,000 horsepower. Due to the engine’s Formula 1 roots, it will have to be rebuilt every 30,000 or so miles (50,000 km) – not bad considering it was never intended for use in a road car. Mercedes has said the hypercar will have a top speed of over 217 mph and will be limited to just 275 units worldwide.

The interior image has revealed the Project One will feature a Formula 1-style steering wheel with integrated shift lights, a digital driver’s display and a center display screen. The steering wheel also appears to be adorned with buttons to control the vehicle’s various settings and modes – similar to a Formula 1 car. The windscreen appears to take on a dome shape and doesn’t look too dissimilar from an LMP1 prototype’s windscreen.

AMG will pull the wraps off of the highly anticipated Project One early next week. If you’re anything like us, you can hardly wait to see this insane, Formula 1-derived creation.
