The first Koenigsegg Agera RS built for the U.S. will arrive this week.
Heading to the 2016 Monterey Car Week, the Koenigsegg Agera RS will actually be badged as the “Agera XS” according to the wishes of its owner. Sporting a Karosserie Orange paint job with a diamond-dust metallic effect, the exotic sports car has been further contrasted by a clear carbon center strip. On the inside is matching black Alcantara with orange contrast stitching and the Agera XS will also arrive with bespoke aerodynamics, including the largest rear wing ever fitted to a Koenigsegg, specifically designed to the owner’s wishes.Like all other Koenigsegg vehicles, the Agera XS has a removable lightweight hardtop that can be detached or reattached in minutes and is stored under the front hood of the car. It is powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with over 1,300 horsepower mated to a seven-speed paddle shift gearbox.Essentially a more hardcore version of the Agera R, the Agera RS tips the scales at 3,075 pounds wet. Other features include smart airbags, adjustable pedals and steering column, six-way electrically adjustable carbon sport seats, carbon ceramic brakes with Sport ABS, KES (stability control), front and rear hydraulic lifting system, active shock absorbers, active ride height, active front and rear aerodynamics, LifePo4 battery, Apple CarPlay, USB connection and media player, climate control, digital warning and information system, G sensor, alarm and tire monitoring system.“It is a true pleasure for us to present the Agera XS at this year’s Monterey Car Week, especially as this is the first Agera RS that will be fully homologated for use on American roads,” said Christian von Koenigsegg. “Our re-entry into the US market is a watershed moment for our company and the Agera XS is the perfect car to emphasize this occasion. The response to the Agera RS and the Regera in the USA has been overwhelming and we look forward to delivering the ultimate in automotive performance to our American customers in the very near future.”
