What will future Ferraris look like in 2040? Well, Ferrari challenged top design students from all over the world to come up with what future Prancing Horses could look like.
At first, 50 schools were considered, which was narrowed down to four: ISD-Rubika in Valenciennes (France), Hochschule Pforzheim (Germany), the College for Creative Studies in Detroit (US), and the Asia-Pacific region’s top design school, Hongik University in Seoul (Korea).
From these final four, 12 different models have been selected to compete in the finals, with three coming from each shcool. To win the top award or “Gran Premio,” the car must be judged by a jury made up of designers, engineers, drivers and even famous collectors. Some of the jurors include famous designer Paolo Pininfarina, F1 driver Sebastian Vettel and musicians Jay Kay and Nick Mason.
Ferrari is also hosting a contest on its Facebook page where the public can vote on their favourite to win the “Premio Speciale” award, which will be announced on January 15, 2016.
