When Aston Martin’s AM-RB 001 hypercar hits the streets, the British company says it will make use of the highest-revving engine ever put in a production car.
The F1-inspired monster was born out of a collaboration with Adrian Newey and Red Bull Racing– there will be nothing on the road quite like the AM-RB 001.
In today’s auto industry where manufacturers are turning to turbochargers and downsized engines, the AM-RB 001 will be a massive middle finger to the rest of the world.
The company aims to fit their baby with a brand new V12 engine capable of screaming to 11,000 RPM, something that has never ever been done on a production car. Not even the Ferrari Enzo offered these levels of obscenity.
Besides the chassis and aero developed with RBR, F1 has it’s dirty little fingers all over the project, with both Williams and McLaren lending a hand with engine development.
“We may be saying farewell to this kind of powertrain, so we plan to produce the best of the species,” Aston Martin chief creative officer Marek Reichman told The Drive in an interview.
