Default Thoughts on Range Rover Sport for daily car?

Because of the long drive to work (46 miles each way) I picked up an 08 Mini S back in August. Gas prices were high and I was looking for a "sensible" way to go from A-->B and then back.

However, the mini is a pretty rough ride, and the 6 speed in NY traffic everyday is kinda bugging me. Mix that with the NY weather and roads and the commute isn't so fun anymore.

I was thinking about something different and more comfortable for the drive to the office. Looking to probably lease something as I drive about 25k miles/year and don't want to have the hassle of trying to sell a car with 75-100k miles on it in a few years.

What are you thoughts on the RR sport? Supercharged that much better? Quality? Reliability? Daily comfort? Gas mileage (eeeps!)

    Any opinions would be great!

    Thanks!

when gas prices start to prop up in about 2 yrs, it's going to cost quite a bit to fill that tank up if you're using it as a daily driver.

Land Rover/ Range Rover's don't have the best reliability.. Not sure how the sports are.....
It is vital that we work to a few golden rules. Always work in a small team. Keep a very low profile. Only deal with people who come recommended. And it's like selling anything else: washing machines, hand made shoes, blowjobs. As long as you don't take the piss people will always come back for more. And that is not to say we don't have that special kind of magic that makes two kilos into three. But never be too greedy.

    I had a RR Sport.
Not worth the money. I had nothing but problem with mine. Plus the 4wheel drive was a joke. Ill never go back to RR in my life.

Friend picked up a RR, busted hose somewhere under the hood $700 , and just yesterday alternator problem, $1500, thats not counting labor.
Stay away from these ugly cars.
A Tahoe is just as comfortable for a commute.

I was looking in to purchasing one for my wife, during the test drive I asked the sales person, Many of my friends have had problems with this car. Has there been anything done to improve the reliability and so on? He looked at me and said, Sir all I can say is we have some really good mechanics at this location.

That should be a good answer to your question. They are beautiful cars but have never heard one person recommend them.

Yeah. I understand what you guys mean. A work associate has a regular RR and it has a "cheap" interior for the money. However, it does look nice from the outside and is pretty comfy which is why I wanted to look into it.

Other than the RR, I really wouldn't need a truck. A 4 door would be nice, but I don't need that either. Just something that is fun to drive, automatic, and super comfy.

Any ideas? I'd like to keep a lease somewhere around 1-1200/month if possible.
