Default 2013 24 Hours of LeMans

Will be a big race and the festivities should be awesome, being the 90th running. Anyone going? I would like to meet up with some L4P'ers if anyone is making the trek over.

    Excellent pictures!

I wish I was there. Its going to be incredible as always. If you don't mind, if you could snap some pictures of the #93 and #53 vipers (for those that don't know, the number 91 viper is running number 53 this race as 91 was spoken for by an RSR porsche)

Its going to be a great race, I obviously hope the vipers fair well (given there lack of experience and testing, in a new car) but DAMN those Aston GTE PRO cars are fast!

Probably not the best person to get advice from, I am here working for a team so everything is scheduled and taken care of. Someone posted a really comprehensive LeMans guide on Fchat, check it out. Viper pic below, I will try to get a few more..

So sad this race already had a death 3 laps in

If you watched the race of them fixing the guardrail, he hit so hard it pushed the guardrail into the tree. The whole car and roof was twisted in the crash. Sad reminder how dangerous racing still is

Incredibly sad. It probably was a system failure on the car.

That's my thoughts as well, but they are staying quite tight lipped so far, and with no clear camera angles of the actual hit or what lead up to it its tough to say

    clear sight here

I guess there must have been a bit of car failure in that crash, I don't think a experienced driver like he was would have overcorrected the oversteer that much like it seems in that video.
Anyway, this is a sad, sad weekend for motorsports, another racing driver died at the Nürburgring yesterday (i am not sure what happend, from what i understood he got a heart attack during racing).
