I don't think it's anything necessarily malicious on the part of the team towards Mark. I have however thought that possibly the team uses Marks car as a test bed ultimately for final changes to Sebs car. There have been reports that Newey and the team have developed an ingenious way of using the KERS as a traction control system, allowing power to be put down quicker, and earlier. It could possibly explain why Marks car is always having KERS failures. They are pushing the limits of the system, and ultimately it fails. Just rumors of course, but fuel for the fire.

The next big story, Kimi potentially owed 15mil by Team Lotus, and yet to receive a dime this season. It's been tossed out that he hit GVD on purpose to retire from the race. Can't say I see the IceMan doing that, but 15mil is certainly not a drop in the bucket.

Adrian Newey stated that they both have the same cars but I certainly do not believe so, Mark has not been treated fairly in the team, just my point of view.

Every time I think, wow, Mark has a chance of winning a race, his start is horrible, the team switches him to a three stop strategy (when he clearly believed he could do a 2 stopper), or some unexplainable KERS (just was down on power???) problem happens to him. Earlier this year, the team tells him to dial it back, and tell Vettel to not overtake him, only to have Vettel do so. Everyone blamed Vettel! But, the team didn't do anything about it.
Over and over Webber seems to lose out to his teammate. This is meant to attack Vettel, I am a fan! It just seems like a whole lot of coincidences have played against Webber this year, and it is starting to add up to be more than coincidence in my mind.

I never venture into this sub-forum so I just found this thread. Thank goodness I now have a place to come and chat F1 with some (seemingly) knowledgeable folks. I'm no expert and have only been really been actively following F1 for the past 5 years, but I do thoroughly enjoy it. I spend much of my downtime reading PlanetF1.com, and learning about the sports history.

I agree that Webber has not been given the same treatment as his teammate, but that's not to say that Vettel hasn't had his issues too. He did have a DNF in GB, and struggled earlier in the season (4th place finish in China, 3rd in Australia, 4th in Spain, etc.). I am a Hamilton fan through and through, but it's silly to ignore the natural talent that Vettel has. Blame it on this, that, or the other - Vettel is a talent that will be recognized for decades. Despite all of the drama that goes on behind the scenes, all of the conspiracy theories, etc. I am just excited to be able to watch history in the making.

I'm very excited for next year. The engine changes, and the team changes are going to be great! I honestly didn't think that Mercedes would do as well as they did this year (obviously I'm thrilled that they have held their own). As the team continues to grow I am looking forward to some strong finishes next year. Hamilton needs to find the fight that he once had though. Ferrari is going to be where I think we will see the most drama. Kimi seems to bring drama where ever he goes - mix that with Alonso's personality...? Could be a recipe for incredible things, or a recipe for disaster. I think it was A. Prost that was recently saying that all of the changes that are happening for 2014 couldn't have come at a better time for Red Bull. It will prevent them from becoming complacent with all of their titles under their belt. The new motor in particular is acting like a reset button for all of the teams which will in turn encourage Red Bull to work just as hard (same goes for all the teams obviously). I'm thrilled for Ricciardo moving to Red Bull next year too. Although the team is still very young I think that the experience will propel him beyond what he could have ever achieved anywhere else. I fear for McLaren. After a (comparatively) miserable season I think they will continue to struggle next year, but maybe with all of the changes in '14 it will help them get back on the playing field.

Wjy aren't Bugatti in Formula One? Owned by Volkswagen and with their rich racing history; wouldn't they be a great addition?

The answer is very simple, it cost too much for them; that is why there is no BMW, Toyota, Porsche owned by VW as well, only Mercedes, Renault, ferrari and the return of Honda soon.
