    Default Geneva 2015: Koenigsegg Regera

Next to the new Agera RS variant, Christian von Koenigsegg also introduced his new mega car the Regera.
It features 3 electric motors next to the combustion engine.
Hopefully we will see more of those on the road in the future. With the amounts of LaF, P1 and 918 which can be seen on the streets around the world it seems like that the market for those cars is there.

Not putting miles on your (super)car is like having the hottest girlfriend, but not banging her very often because you want her to be tighter for her next boyfriend.

As they stand right now the numbers seem to be:
    Power: 1100hp from the 5.0L twin turbo V8 + 700hp form 3 electric motors = 1800hp (according to Top Gear/some are reporting 1500hp)
    Acceleration: 0-62mph in 2.7 sec
    0-248mph in under 20 sec
    Top Speed: 255mph
    Torque:1457 lb-ft
    Transmission: Koenigsegg Direct Drive
Interior: Much more luxury oriented with a touch screen, WiFi, 3g, cameras, apple integration, and up grades to the upholstery

The most interesting thing is the absence of a conventional transmission. How will it feel when the car doesn't have "gears"? Is it just a put your foot down and go method? I'm very curious

I wouldn't mind if its a better version of the variable ratio transmissions coming out in new nissans etc, they are a little interesting with not so much power but I think in conjunction with the electric motors it would be insane. Like turbo boost from the onset.

I"m excited about the worldwide homologation they mentioned, which may see one coming to Australia?

What is up with all these car manufacturers making cars that are absolutely gorgeous until you see the back side of them lately?

From what I understand, they are marketing it as a "1500+ hp" vehicle and not 1800hp. According to a few articles and videos, the car never uses the full amount of available power due to its systems for getting the power down, such as the torque vectoring. Though I could very well be wrong.

No you are correct, the combustion engine and the electrical system makes a combined power of 1800hp but full power is never used from both at the same time. So peak power is 1500hp.

I respect his passion and vision but selling million dollar+ cars only gets you by, day by day. He should seriously start thinking about an entry model in the 375-475k range to assure the prosperity and longevity of his company.
Wall Street is the only place that people ride to in a Rolls Royce to get advice from those who take the subway.

Don't like the wheels but since they are dark they are less troublesome.
Don't like the mustache-looking front lip.
Power is power and we all love power but electric or battery combined engines can't have that magical sound befitting a powerful brute.
The side profile looks pretty good.

In the end I say bring back the Agera.

From what I understand: he doesn't really care about making a ton money from this company. He has made his money in other ways and uses the supercar company almost as an experiment or something. I could be wrong though.

As for the Regera, I absolutely love the look of it and the numbers are insane. I want to see video of it running top speed.
