The room service was awesome. The food was great except for those frozen strawberries lol. Hey dmark, it's obvious you haven't a clue what you're talking about. When you pay for 5-star service and get a subpar outcome, it's ok to bitch a little, considering the amount of money dished out.
Sucks that your experience was like that, having worked at the Ritz before, it seems all too typical that they call you and practically beg you to come back. Upon your return, the staff will likely all know your names and that you are a complaint customer. They will treat you like King and Queen to regain your trust. So enjoy that :D
To the guy that says it is whiny to complain about no hot tea or warm room, you have no idea how the hospitality industry works (heck with an attitude like that, you probably don't know how most of the world works). When you pay a premium price for a 5 star hotel, the hotel better be checking to see if the rooms are clean, warm and inviting, the tea is hot and the strawberries are unfrozen. Heck, for your anniversary, I would've made sure your strawberries were on the house, as well as a couple glasses of champagne.
Did you eat at the restaurants? did anybody wish you happy anniversary?
For your next visit, I would do Shangri-la hotel, they definitely know what they're doing.
