This iPhone Speaker Dock is Made Out of a Real Formula 1 Car’s Exhaust

How’s this for sound innovation? Now you can get your hands on an iPhone speaker dock crafted out of an old Formula One car’s exhaust manifold.

Offering clear highs and mids, two silk-dome, 70-watt tweeters along with two PPM-cone, 70-watt mid-range speakers sit in the openings of an F1 manifold’s four headpipes. No need to worry about the bass sounds either as near the end of the collector tube is a 140-watt subwoofer that’s driven – pun intended – by a high intensity flux ferrite.

The docks are built from the left or right manifold of retired eight-cylinder F1 engines including the 1978 Cosworth DFV and the 2007 Ferrari 056. Not only can you choose the engine model that fits you best, but there’s also six stunning color options available (but color is only applied to the base, leather trim, hex screws and 6082 anodized aluminum speaker cowlings).
