    What are you using?

With so many options like AppleTV, Mac Mini, Boxee, Roku, etc and the option to build out something yourself with the awesome Tegra 2 processor, the options seem limitless.

Add to that a long list of options for media centers, it becomes confusing.

What are you guys using for hardware and software? What's the leading edge?

i have a viewsonic vmp75. it plays every file possible, but its a little buggy.

if you're in the US, you can't go wrong with a Boxee box. it also plays every file ever and has access to all those internet outlets like netflix etc.

I've thought about building a media center pc off and on for the past 4 years, but I eventually just decided to use my PS3.

Having Savant come out in two weeks to give me a breakdown and estimate for a few different home automation systems. It's all Mac based so I can use my old iPhones and iPads as the controllers.

Would that be a Mac Mini then? Or Apple TV?

Everyone says Mac Minis are great but way to expensive, you can get way more for half the price.

I'm easy, just trying to see what people use!

Airplay seems so awesome but the Apple TV 2 only displays at 720p? That's terrible.
