I thought I'd turn to l4p since we seem to have everyone and anyone on this forum.

I have a problem viewing youtube videos as of late. If I try to watch a clip it takes about 10sec to even get it going most of the time, and then it always stops within the first 20sec and then the video just doesn't play. Pretty annoying.

The thing is, it does work on my iphone no problem, which is wifi'd to same router I'm running my computer through. (computer is connected by cable though)
I'm not very good with these things..

Does anyone have any ideas?

FWIW, it is youtube videos only. Porn works like a charm.

1. try restarting the router
2. try restarting the computer

Please note your computer's default settings is to watch the youtube video on higher quality and bitrate than your iphone.
If those steps didn't help, google for: "speedtest" and see if your getting the speed your paying for.
If not, simply call your ISP.

1. Try Google Chrome (or if that's what you're using, try Firefox)
2. Update Flash
3. It could be a DNS issue. Make sure your computer is using default DNS. If it is, try using Google Public DNS and see if that fixes it.

Edit: You can also try clearing the browser's cache and the computer's DNS cache.

Are you trying to stream the videos in HD? perhaps your connection cant handle it and its just buffering. quality is chosen by the little cog icon on the bottom right just in case you didn't already know that.

I'd guess at Flash...

Not DNS, it loads fine to start with which it wouldn't if it was a DNS issue.
Not likely to be bandwidth as it loads fine on the iPhone through the same connection. Unless you're running the videos at 1080p.

Definitely need OS and browser details though :)

I forgot about this thread.. But thanks for all the suggestions guys! :)

I'm running Firefox and tried Explorer (only other browser I have, don't use it though cus it sucks..) but with the same results. I then deleted an add-on in Firefox that I have no idea how it was installed, must have been included in something else I installed and I didn't see it.. Reinstalled flash and cleared the cache and cookies, restarted the computer but to no luck.

However, after a couple of days it all went back to normal. I didn't do anything else to resolve it so maybe it was a bandwith problem or something out of my control, I don't know.

It works now though so it's all good! :)
