Default Anyone own a 80 inch tv?

Well just picked up a brand new home and need to furnish it and figured I cant use my 4 yr old 50inch plasma so I was at best buy and somhow got the manager to make a deal . Initially inteded on getting a 65inch the biggest but somhow ended up purchasing a 80inch Sharp Led TV . It was too big to fit in the truck so I have to have it delivered . Will post pics once I get it and installed , I dont know anyone personally with a TV that big to compare anything< anyone here have one or bigger would love to see pics >
, so well see once it gets here , going to cost me around $500 to get it installed over the fireplace mantle , the mount for it was couple hundred bucks .. still need some type of surround sound

Funny I was just looking at these at Best Buy tonight. I saw they had 2 sharps. One a 120hz and the other was the 240hz 3d. The first one was 3k and the other I believe 4k. What did you pick yours up for if you dont mind me asking? I have a big wall and am thinking of doing an 80 as well.

I ended up getting it clearenced at 2432 minus 100 bucks + tax and the 4 yr protection plan and the mount still came out to around 3 grand after said and done with . mine didnt have the 240hz 3d and they told me they couldnt get it in either cuz I kind of wanted that one . then after sitting I thought to my self I have yet to watch any 3d movies so do I really need a 3d tv lol
You also become a silver member or get that kind of status , which supposedly puts you in the top tier with geeksquad , on a 2500 or more purchase , they calibrate it for you and dunno really what else but the manager gave me some run down .

Check this out. Supposedly you can get the same protection plan for like 200 bucks from what I was reading on the forums.

Check this thread out. Its towards the most relevant dates of posts. Lots of good info.

Best Buy is a total ripoff. Several years ago I made the same mistake you did. Do a quick search on amazon, you will find the identical mount for 1/5 the price.

I did check that out , but as per what my brother told me through his experience , the manufacture warrenty is supposedly like this , if your tv breaks and they come out and fix it , if it happens again they will try to fix it again , whereas with best buys warrenty , if they come out once to fix it , if it happens again they automatically replace the tv , and if just 3 pixels burn out they automatically replace the tv , and if they cant get you same one they give you the credit not what you paid but for the $5000 price it retails for so it seemed for couple hundred bucks more like a better deal . my model is the non 3d version and some people love it and others hate it on reviews Ive seen but I get a 60day unconditional return so well see how it pans out

I recently had a large TV but the stand shattered and the TV fell over. The worst part was that the TV fell off during during Beatlejuice, as he was screaming

Can't wait for the pics. I would love an 80inch but I would need to find a wall big enough for it.
Your best teacher, is your last mistake. -
