Yeah, your going want to consult with a professional IT person.

Well your in luck, I am that person

    For specs:
Xeon 6 Core Processor at 3.2 ghz
Probably going need at least 2 terabyte of solid state drive
    Minimum 64 GBs of ram
Graphics cards get two, ATI FirePro V8800 that each support 4 monitors so than you can have 8 monitors total
That is some starting specs, your IT professional will help you further.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you don't 'need' that^. Way too much for what he's trying to do. Just pick up a top of the line mobo, i7 cpu, 2/1 gfx card with hdmi or dvi, ssd and a regular hdd, 6gb ram or 8gb to top it off and your good to go.

But if you're feeling like wasting money then you can do what the IT pro posted.

I have the ultimate machine it's a sleeper on the outside it says Acer but inside it is a protype DOD computer. Don't ask how I got it and don't tell anyone I have it but I will sell it to you for an amount to be discussed. If you want pictures I need $5000 deposit as I am risking a lot.

go with a third gen Intel i7 for sure, and fro a motherboard,MSI is a good reliable company with no issues, I prefer the Z77 series myself. I don't think you need a top of the line graphics card, but like SMW said, if you want to hook up multiple monitors, I would go with a Sapphire 6950 (it's a newer card, but no that expensive). Get at least 8GB of memory, I would say 16GB to be safe, and a SSD, reason being for reading data, they are a lot faster than a traditional HDD, most are 550+MB/sec.

DavidV what happen to the part of loosing $400 million in a single trade, you must be a pretty big player in the investment world to be throwing around that kinda change over a single trade. I have a couple of friends that do trading, not as big as you, but they got some serious backup systems for power outage and redundancy for system failure. I got a friend who is really good at computers, he is actually up in NJ near where you are looking to buy a $20,000,000 house. When you get settled into the house, give me a shout and I will send him your way to get you the best system money can buy so you never loose a penny to your computer crashing during a day trade!

If you are asking you shouldn't be trading.

But since you insist. You should probably spend at least 500k on the most sophisticated and complicated setup possible.

You did say you wanted to do things right, correct?
