good luck. try simple green. it works well on water based paint.

for oil based paint, goo gone and goof off will do the trick. goof off (spray can) is much more corrosive so test these in small area first.

I usually get my car washed over at Valet Detail. They've done good work, and the owner seems knowledgeable and well respected by his customers. I'd say it's a fair price as well. The city of los angeles does have some type of program where they will pay for tire damage if it occurs from a pothole that has been reported for a set amount of time before the incident without having been repaired, so you may as well try to hit them up for the cost of this if you have time and see how it goes. For the amount of money that california charges us for auto registration, they do a shit job of maintaining their roads. They hit me for well over $1k per year to register my vehicle since it's based on value, so I switched my registration to Florida where I have another residence - now it's only about 70-80/year. Pretty ridiculous.

Im sorry sir, but dont ever put these chemicals on to your paint. Unless you know how to make sure that all of it is completely off of your paint immediately, its still bad. That stuff stays on the clear coat and it will completely burn right through it. Itll just sit there and completely eat through the paint layers. Take the time and put the money into a real professional, never take house hold stuff like that to your car.

I used goo gone on my porsche and no it didn't burn into the clear or paint. I used the goof off spray (much stronger) on the clear bra as well. No issue there. Have you tried either? The advice given is based on actual results, not speculation. It's up to what you do with your car but I wouldn't offer you advice that I didn't try.

To the OP, how did the detailing job turn out?
