Stairs are IN! Those pie stairs took nearly ALL day to get done. But We are THRILLED with the difference it made!! Some filling to do tonight, sanding tomorrow, then staining sometime this coming week (Water based, so it should cut down in the fumes and set time)

And what do you do when there is one week until your due date? Start GUTTING another room.

    Bedroom #2 (second floor)

Hans' sisters Boyfriend sawsall'ing the largest, most useless closet ever. 3' wide, and made of 1x1's and wood paneling. TERRIBLE!!!

    Moving right along...

We finally caved and hired some guys to come in and do the drywall/mudding. Not enough time to mess around doing it ourselves! Baby could show up any minute/day now.

    gangsta homie drywallers

mudding and tape, should be wrapped up tomorrow, and ready for paint, just waiting for things to dry now, and just some final touching up/finish sanding tomorrow

So, while that dries over night, we're having the staircase gutted. Stupid pie-shaped stairs and lack of a railing (and obviously no insulation) have been quite the hazard, time to go.

So, our staircase was done April 3, 1898, and front page news at the time, was a single real estate transaction that profited $55,000.

things moved along pretty quickly, as our son made his debut appearance last Tuesday morning So, while I was in the hospital, the guys came over to help and just went nuts.

    Closet system going in

    Flooring

it wasnt quite finished by the time i got home, doors still needed to go up, knobs, finishing trim, but the major parts are done

still need to complete refinishing the bed frame

stripping it down and painting it white

nightstands should be here this weekend as well.

and while they were at it, they tackled the staircase, which was quite treacherous, steep, with those stupid pie shaped stair treads.

    Before

    after

still have a ways to go, but its at least safe and sturdy now.

That's a great idea! Do you have any photos of this in progress? Or maybe an exploded view? You can visit some godynamerican.com for more information about renovation projects.
