hello pros, Mudding/sanding drywall. Whats the best technique?
Well its almost that time to start the drywall/taping/mudding portion on my house remodel. In the past I'd do it the old fashion way, try to mud as minimal as possible, than sand with course mesh sand paper. Skim off with another coat and repeat sanding process. This of course creates a shit ton of dry wall dust and is not pleasant at all. This time I'm going to try the wet sponge method, suppose to be a lot cleaner. The only other technique I've seen is the vacuum cleaner attachment that traps all the drywall particles into a bucket of water. Besides what I'm listing here, anyone else got any other interesting technique for sanding drywall? cough cough..

If you put the coats on nice and smooth you shouldn't have to sand in between all. Typically it's about 3 light coats, then a rough sand then a polish coat, then a light sand before painting. Vacuum attachment is the best hope - but it's still a shit ton of dust and not pleasant.
