    Default FIRE: Kitchen remodel

had a small fire in the kitchen this morning. luckily no "major" damage. not really worth messing with the insurance company about it.
My wife and myself figured now is as good as any time to remodel the kitchen.
so i will be posting up. everything from tile floors to painting the ceiling. (click on image to see larger)

Keurig attempted to burn the house down?

kuerig was deemed the cause of the fire. my wife had been cleaning the kitchen and was using lysol wipes and we think a nearby candle and somehow the chemicals from the wipes caught and the kuerig was the nearest object. thinking back on it, it's really weird and we really don't understand what happened or how it happened.

Glad to hear you guys are ok.

With your theory it sounds like the coffee maker was cleaned with the Lysol wipes too. Do those things have a 'hot plate' like regular coffee makers? Could be your culprit right there if it was still on when it was wiped down (or maybe auto start?)

Our kitchen needs a remodel and we haven't had a fire Should be in the works soon however.

no hot plate on/in the keurig. we have yet to find the candle that was nearby???? we haven't found any wax or glass that the candle was in anywhere. will add post cleanup pics in the morning.
