Default What is similar to a Padron 1964 Anniversary?

I've been trying to expand my horizons lately, and have been smoking a few Arturo Fuente's, and Rocky's, however i still haven't found anything that is quite as good as the Padron 1964. The Padron has to be one of my favorites right now.

I recently picked up a Padron 44 year family reserve, but haven't had a chance to smoke it yet.

Any other recommendations on smokes that have a similar flavor profile to the 64?

Nothin in my opinion is at the level the 64 is. It is a proven winner. Cigars are about exploring what tastes you like so don't be afraid to just walk into a humidor and start stocking up on different sticks

San Lotano Oval Maduro are Padronesque...If I had to choose between the two, I'd still go 1964 though.

I had this bad boy this morning and it was so smooth and satisfying...I usually like my vitola with smaller gauge but it was a sacrifice I had to make... The 1926 are more complex a bit more full bodied...but the 1964's are just balanced, smooth as can be, and such an easy draw...the ash is a layered masterpiece.

PS...the slight blemish near the cap was my fault...dropped it taking it out of the herf....MF's is heavy.

I smoke quite a few 1964's, I think the new Melanio is somewhat comparable and very good.

So far, it is my favorite cigar, though I also LOVE AF Hemingway Maduros.

Nothing comes close to a Padron 1964, but the closest I've come is Ortega Serie D.

    I wouldn't say "nothing" ---

There are plenty of cigars that beat the 1964.

Tatuaje Cojonu 2012 Habano is a good alternative. In my opinion, it is the closest.
