Here’s a travel story worth retelling! Tourists (as well as locals) visiting the Greek island of Mykonos this week took in quite an unusual sight – a luxury yacht found sinking in the stunning waters between the Psarou and Platis Gialos beaches.
Both beaches attract large numbers of people each day, so it’s no surprise that once the boat was spotted sinking phone calls to the local port authority (and even a few rescue attempts) were made in droves. Mykonos media outlets reported that all passengers on board the yacht were safely transported to shore, and while officers are still unsure on the official cause, reports claim that none of the passengers were injured in the accident.
The boat is reportedly a Custom Line Navetta and measures 33 meters (that over 100 feet) in length.
