Having a convertible car is no big feat in today’s day and age. Some are mechanical while others require some well-oiled biceps, but the idea is the same: if it’s a beautiful day out, lets take the top off and enjoy it! And when the weather threatens to pour or is too cold to go top-down, raise it up and you’ll have a closed cabin.Riva, a yacht company, took that familiar car concept and applied it to their 88 Florida yacht. The result is a yacht that can offer protection from harsh weather and go top-down when the sun is shining which is a revolutionary idea in the yachting world.
The convertible top isn’t just a fold-out hard top- it is a complicated mechanism that is an exclusive patents of the Ferretti Group’s Engineering Department. At the touch of a button, two metal arms appear from the sides of the hull. They lift a carbon-fibre section from the bow and set it onto of the windshield, which forms a sealed hardtop. When the top opens, a large dining area with a U-shaped couch is exposed to the fresh air and sunshine and an unparalleled view of the surrounding ocean.Should you want to take the party indoors, the centre salon features an equally large couch complete with a galley and bar, the latter featuring a large sink, microwave and refrigerator. This yacht also features a full-beam master suite, two double VIP room and a stateroom with two single berths. Al of these also contain their own person en suites. Source: [RobbReport]
