Great thread, thanks Chaseme  Everyone loves fighters cause their sleek, fast & loud but i'm a heavy guy at heart...#2 KC-135 did it for me. Always hated busting my azz working fighters but never getting the opportunity to truly enjoy them. Totally different crewing heavies…where it goes, you go with it.

EDIT: Setting on an open ramp out back while being yards off the ground is worth all the busted knuckles/sleepless nights. See what you did…got me all excited.

It doesn't get better than St. Maarten.

When we were in St Maarten, we did a jetski tour and stopped at that beach. At first I had no clue why were there, but the guide said that we would just hang out for a few minutes then be on our way...

Well I had no idea on the other side of the fence was a runway and when you're not expecting it, you damn near shit yourself when you see it come over head. You swear you can reach up and touch it, it feels that close.

My dad was in the Army for 11 years or so and was responsible for doing a lot of the instrument calibrations on a multitude of aircraft, but specifically helicopters. I still remember the first time I saw/heard a cobra helicopter come over the tree line and land in a feild near me for one of our 'career' days in elementary school. It was the coolest thing I had seen or heard till I heard a top fuel car 60 ft away go full throttle.

To this day I'm enfatuated with military helicopters. I was born at Fort Campbell, Ky, and grew up in Jersey between Fort Dix, Lakehurst Naval air base and Meguiar Air Force base so I got to see just about every type of helicopter in the military during the 80s.

I guess that's why I'm enfatuated with speed.
